Thigh Lift Bellevue

Conveniently located to serve Seattle and Bellevue

Liposuction is often combined with a thigh lift for the best contour of your lower body and thigh region.

Types of Thigh Lift

Liposuction: If the skin recoil is adequate certain patients may only need liposuction to reach the desired contour of the thigh. This will be determined by Dr. Parikh. Liposuction can debulk the area significantly and may avoid incisions which is a benefit in the ideal candidate.

Medial or inner Thigh Lift: The incision is limited to the groin creases as is on the inner part of the thigh. It is a good approach for skin laxity that is mild to moderate.

Reviews

Just a few words about Dr. Rikesh Parikh. He was called in to Overlake Hospital to assist on a surgery on my wife’s thigh. He’s the most caring and compassionate doctor. He even drove 20 miles to see my wife in the rehab center, where she was for over a month, to make sure her wound was healing properly. Dr. Parikh has the most infectious smile and laugh that is truly sincere. There was always time for any questions that we had and never felt rushed. We feel very lucky to have had Dr. P assigned to my wife’s surgery, and can’t say enough wonderful things about him. We recommend him to anyone. J.H.

Longitudinal or Vertical Thigh lift: The incision is placed vertically down the thigh towards the knee. It is combined with the inner thigh lift to form a boomerang or T like incision. This incision is necessary to contour the thigh if there is a large amount of circumferential excess skin.

Thigh Lift Consultation

Get ready to discuss your motivations for getting a thigh lift, any allergies you may have, your current health status, any conditions you’re currently managing, and any previous surgeries you may have had. Dr. Parikh must take into account a number of variables, including but not limited to alcohol, cigarettes, and drug use.

Additionally, Dr. Parikh will assess your general health. He will take detailed measurements, and he may take photographs for your medical files. The potential benefits and drawbacks of thigh lift surgery will also be discussed during the appointment.

Candidates for Thigh Lift

Candidates are relatively healthy and nonsmokers. If smoking, a minimum of 4 weeks stopping prior to surgery will improve the outcome. Candidates have excess skin and fat in the area. The thighs hang due to excess skin. If skin recoil is adequate you may be a candidate for liposuction alone and not require incisions. The type of thigh lift needed will be determined by Dr. Parikh at the time of consultation.

Postoperative Recovery After a Thigh Lift

This is a same day procedure and the patient will go home that day after the procedure. After the procedure there may be some discomfort. Some swelling and bruising is normal. If liposuction is performed the garment will be worn for 6 weeks. The garment helps with swelling and skin recoil. Patients usually return to work after 2 weeks. Activity is semi restricted to optimize healing. Drains are placed only if a large amount of tissue is removed. These drains are usually removed within a week. Scars can change and fade up to one year. Dr. Parikh can discuss scar therapy treatments and how to optimize scar healing at the time of consultation.

Thigh Lift Results

The results of a thigh lift can be seen almost immediately after the procedure is performed. After a thigh lift, the quality of the skin will be noticeably better, both visually and tactilely. However, it can take several months for the final results to be seen, since all swelling must go down first.

As you get older, it is perfectly normal for your body to lose some of its firmness. However, the vast majority of your thigh lift results will still be visible. High-quality results can be preserved if you keep your weight in check and keep working out regularly.
