The procedure can be performed awake under local anesthesia called tumescence or asleep under general anesthesia. After tumescence fluid is placed and the area is numb a liposuction cannula is used to remove the fat from under the chin and along the jawline area.

Most patients are good candidates for chin and jawline liposuction. This is an in office procedure that is relatively quick. Avoidance of blood thinners is recommended and a prior consultation to determine your goals and expectations. It is a same day procedure and can be done in patients with relatively good health.
