Ear Plastic Surgery Bellevue

Earlobe Injuries and Defects

Earlobes can be torn from traction injuries or earrings. Other earlobe defects are created by large gauges or piercings. In general most of these issues can be repaired with a close to the normal looking ear afterwards.

Earlobe Scarring and Keloids

Keloid or hypertrophic scars can form from previous trauma to the ear or most commonly ear piercing. Keloids especially can get very large and noticeable, affecting self-esteem and confidence.

Types of Earlobe Surgery

  1. Torn Earlobe Repair
  2. Gauged earlobe Repair
  3. Piecing closures
  4. Keloid Removal

Most patients are a candidate for these types of procedures. The procedures are generally well tolerated and performed under local anesthesia in the office. For keloids, other options may be required such as steroid injections, silicone therapy, pressure earrings or radiation.

Postoperative Recovery after Earlobe Repair

The procedures are performed as same day surgery under local anesthesia in the office. The sutures are removed after one week. Vaseline is used as a dressing over the repair. No showering for 48 hours. Return to work the same day. If there are any questions during the postoperative course we encourage patients to call immediately. Follow ups are close initially and will be spaced out farther with time.

Earlobe Surgery Cost

Cost of the procedure is based on 1. Anesthesia Fees 2. Facility Fees and 3. Surgeon Fees.

Range is highly variable based on defect size or type of procedure. Range can be from $500 to $1000 USD per ear for all combined charges. Prices may vary based on length of time and complexity of the case. Pricing includes all follow up appointments and care. There are no hidden fees.
