When would a Testicular Implant or Prosthesis be used?
- If the testicle was removed from surgery due to injury, disease or torsion
- Undescended testicle from birth to the scrotum

Why Place A Testicular Implant in?
The artificial testicle or implant has no functional effect but is more for psychological purposes and cosmesis.
Procedure
It is an outpatient procedure performed under general or local anesthesia. An incision is made in the scrotum and a subdartos pocket is created to allow for the implant to be placed. The incision is closed in layers.
