Jplasma Resurfacing Bellevue

J-Plasma Renuvion is a facial resurfacing device that uses helium gas as a medium. This procedure treats sun damaged skin, red and brown spots, and fine wrinkles. There are two mechanisms that attempt to resurface and rejuvenate the skin. Similar to laser resurfacing, energy is used to ablate the outer layer of the skin (epidermis) and tighten the skin tightening by affecting the deeper layer of the skin (dermis). The old skin is then replaced with a new layer which is appearing more youthful and tighter.

J-Plasma Renuvion Candidates

J-Plasma Renuvion is a nonsurgical method for treating fine lines and wrinkles. It will not treat a large amount of loose skin in the neck or face. Potential patients are evaluated in a thorough consultation. J-plasma Renuvion is less invasive than surgery and is a great alternative in the right candidates.

J-Plasma Renuvion Benefits

Ablative Resurfacing

  • Red Spots
  • Dyschromia
  • Freckles
  • Brown Spots

Collagen Stimulation

  • Tightening of the skin
  • Removal of fine lines and wrinkles

Subdermal Tightening by J-Plasma Renuvion

The J-Plasma Renuvion device can be used under the skin as well as a subdermal approach. This allows the helium based energy to heat up the dermis and stimulate collagen from underneath the skin. This will result in tightening of the skin without involving the top of the skin.

The subdermal approach is usually combined with liposuction techniques to tighten the skin after loss of fat after liposuction. This can help prevent excess loose skin after removal of fat by liposuction.

The procedure is performed as an outpatient by the following ways by Dr. Parikh;

  • Local Anesthesia with nerve blocks and oral sedation
  • Local Anesthesia with IV sedation
  • General Anesthesia

Regardless of the type of anesthesia the patient can go home the same day.

The skin will peel and crust for the first 2 weeks and during this time home skin care is performed. After the new skin has regenerated makeup can be used over the new tightened and smooth skin. Avoidance of sunlight should also be encouraged during this time. Detailed instructions about post-procedure care will be given during the consultation.

Potential Complications

  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Persistent Redness
  • Scarring
  • Infection

These complications will be discussed in detail with you at time of consultation.

Helium based Plasma is the 4th stage of matter. JPLASMA Renuvion specifically is a device that is used to apply that energy. In the case of Subdermal or “beneath the skin” application, the energy delivered by the device to the dermis of the skin stimulates collagen remodeling and synthesis which result in tightening of the skin.
The procedure can be performed awake or asleep. It used in combination with liposuction most of the time. However, lt can also be performed by itself in cases where only skin tightening is required. The device is placed through existing incisions from liposuction and passed underneath the skin to apply the energy to the dermis. Plastic Surgeon Parikh R. MD FACS was the first surgeon to perform a case of JPLASMA Renuvion in the Northwest United States and remains a Consultant, Trainer and Key Opinion Leader for the Northwest U.S.
Almost every area of the body can be treated. These sites are similar to those of liposuction these include;
  • Neck
  • Arms
  • Tummy
  • Back
  • Hips
  • Thighs
Results of skin tightening be seen almost immediately. Over the next few months there should be a gradual improvement. The benefits of liposuction will also be apparent if liposuction was performed at the same time.
Laser Lipo and Plasma Lipo share the same concept with the principle of stimulating the collagen of the dermis with an energy source. Both devices are performed for skin tightening.
The downtime of PLASMALIPO as performed by DR. Parikh is the same as for liposuction to that area if performed simultaneously. A garment is worn for 4-6 weeks. The skin tightening procedure itself does not have any extra downtime.
An ideal candidate is one that has some mild to moderate amount of fat and mild to moderate loss of skin elasticity. Those who have a significant amount of excess skin will likely not benefit by this technique. In these cases a surgical approach may be the best option
Liposuction with Subdermal skin tightening by Plasma is a form of assisted liposuction meaning its liposuction PLUS energy. Standard traditional liposuction does not involve application of this device. The Plasma device augments liposuction by adding a better skin tightening element to the overall results.
The procedure cost itself can range from $1500-$2500 USD per area plus the addition of the cost for liposuction. This includes Anesthesia and Facility Fees.
